Evidently, all the young harpists begin with the same miniature pieces, opening the gate of the magic harp’s world. Every one of them brings new knowledge about the music and the world, about the music instrument and its remarkable abilities. Green years imbibe sounds and leave unforgettable impressions in human minds, that’s why all the distinguished teachers-harpists paid so much attention to children’s notions, formed by the special repertoire and its perpetual renewal.

Innovations in music not only make for technical perfection, but also inculcate yet “unmapped” emotions to pupil’s imaginative sphere. The example of such new emotions is this collection, compiled by the Petersburgian composer Sergei Nikolayevich Poddubny, who picked up the pieces, having been created by his contemporaries especially for harp. These music miniatures are different by their style and complexity, but all of them impart vivid mental pictures to young performers-harpists. Hopefully, Poddubny’s collection of music pearls will enchant the masters of harp performing, carrying away thei imagination far-far away.
