ARKHIMANDRITOV Boris
Boris ARKHIMANDRITOV (1932–2009) graduated from the Leningrad Conservatoire (1962), where he studied composition at Boris Arapov. Many years of his life were devoted to the Leningrad department of the “Soviet Composer” publishing house, where he practiced as the editor. In 1994 he was invited to the Association of Modern Music bureau at the St. Petersburg Composers’ Union.
Arkhimandritov was a professor of the Russian State Pedagogical A. I. Hertsen University.
Among his opuses there are operas “Fox and Grape” and “Idiot”, ballets “Toulouse-Lautrec’ and “Three Jolly Scenes”, so as many symphonic, choral, chamber-vocal and instrumental compositions.
