The author of this album, a well-known St. Petersburg saxophonist and teacher Mark Zvonarev compiled world-famous jazz evergreens and some of his own melodies from the romantic tradition into this collection. The pieces can be performed by saxophone solo or in an ensemble with majority of the instruments encountered on the jazz stage.

The teaching aid is addressed to senior year students of children’s music schools and the first years of music colleges for the discipline of “Jazz improvisation”. This album will certainly benefit the students with expansion of their knowledge, based on the example of masters of jazz. Students will learn to read and recognize chords, to build motives and phrases, and develop their technical skills. And of course, the pieces included in this edition will be a valuable addition to the repertoire of jazz team of any educational institution.
