Here is a series of St. Petersburg’s composers works for the piano trio, written in 2016 at the request of Grigory Korchmar, the chair of the St. Petersburg Union of Composers. They were performed for the first time at the House of Composers’ concert season opening by soloists of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonia named after D. D. Shostakovich. Each work of modern composers lasts no more than 12 minutes so students of secondary and higher educational institutions may perform it whole in a competition or concert program.
All editions include an extra audio CD with four compositions performed by soloists of the St. Petersburg Philharmonia’s Academic Symphony Orchestra. Two musicians of the trio, Nikolai Mazhara and Mikhail Krutik, are also the authors of the presented works, so it sounds extremely close to the author’s intention.
