The Honoured Art Worker of Russia Vladislav Kladnitsky was born in Zaporozhie in 1932. He finished the Omsk Musical School and then graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory where he studied in the professor O. S. Chishko’s class of composition. Among his works there are the opera “Italian Encounters”, eight symphonies, symphonic poem “I Glorify My Motherland”, Spring Overture, suite “Peoples’ Feasts of my Native Land”, vocal-instrumental poem “In the Port”, vocal-instrumental suite “Field-Marshal Kutusov”, Concert for violin and orchestra, Concert for piano and orchestra, Concerto for piano and orchestra, suites of music for films “ Rebellious Picquet”, “ Quiet Odessa”, “ Secret Fairway”, “Guarneri Quartet”, “Silver Strings”, dramatic poem “Till the Heart is Beating”, Sonata for tuba and piano, two sonatas for piano, Seven preludes for piano, Sonata for cello and piano, Diptych for four trombones and female voice.
He is also the author of numerous songs, music to more than ten theatre productions and thirty films among which are “Snowgirl”, “I Shall Never Forget You”, “Scarlet Stone” etc.
