Allemades, courantes and gigues — these dancing personages of pompous baroque are dwelling in the music of Bach and his predecessors.

Minuet has become the pensive core of Haydn’s and Mozart’s symphonies, while Chopin granted brilliant existence to waltzes, polonaises and mazurkas.

Ragtime has been undergoing the same process, attaining its right for continuation already during the whole century. Ragtime finds its abode in our contemporaries’ minds, winning concert stages together with its ancestors and forerunner.

This suite is the first step to ragtime being established as the cello piece.
