Nina Zhemoldinova а well-known Petersburgian cello teacher, practicing for almost thirty years. She is given the award of the Honoured Worker of the Russia Culture. Now she conducts cello class at the Musical College in St Petersburg.
Georg Goltermann (1824–1898), the German cellist and composer, studied in Dresden at Friedrich August Kummer, being engaged by the Hamburg and Stuttgart Kpelles. From 1850 he practiced as the cello teacher at the Praha Conservatoire. Among his disciples there were such distinguished ones as David Popper.
Goltermann's pieces enjoyed their popularity by the wonderful accessibility and aesthetic objectives. They train both imagination, inculcating technical skills of both junior and senior pupils.
The second issue of pieces by Georg Goltermann is offered to the fifth and sixth grades of Children Music School.
