The composer Sergei Patramansky (*1964) is a member of the Russian Composers' Association having received undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (1991 and 1993) at the Ural State Conservatoire, where he studied composition under Professor A. Nimensky in Yekaterinburg. After graduation he attended master-class on composition with S. Berinsky (Moscow — Ivanovo, 1993) and orchestra master-class with A. Terteryan (Yekaterinburg, 1994). He participated in festivals, concerts and conferences, among which there are the International festival “Play and Meditation” (Yekaterinburg, 1993); the International new music festival “Avet Terterian's Lines” (Yekaterinburg, 2002); the 24th International Contemporary Music Festival “Moscow Autumn” (Moscow, 2002) and many others. In July 2007 he was one of the finalists of the International Conference on Music Science 1900 (York, UK), where his piece “Weightless” has been performed. 

Now Patramansky lives and works in St. Petersburg since 2003. Among his compositions are the Piano Concerto (1989); “White Nights”, chamber opera based on F. Dostoyevsky's novel (1998); “Sacramental Sequences” for string quartet (2001); “Quinta essentia” for small symphonic orchestra (2004) and many others.
