Falik Yu. Introduction and Three Canzoni. Score and parts

Yuri FALIK (1936–2009) is one of the most performed St Petersburg composers. His musical style is crisp and clear, open emotional attitude and poetic musical language ensure the success that his works always had by the audience.

Four excerpts from opera — buffa Scapin's Deceits written on the famous play by Molière are offered in the new album. (This arrangement is dedicated by the author to the well known Moscow emsemble Intermezzo ) Chamber music by Falik is characterized by his personal style where each instrument plays its own individual role. Being a brilliant orchestrator Yury Falik reveals the beauty of each instrument, its technical and sound capabilities. Syncopated rhythms, diatonic scales, spicy chord shifts that are typical of Falik’s music are in abundance in this work. The transparency of the musical concept, in a word, musical clarity characterizes all picese in the cycle.

The edition contains the score and parts. This vivid piece of contemporary Russian music will undoubtedly find its place in the repertoire list of any chamber ensemble.
