Popular Pieces for Violinists Ensemble. Vol. 3. Score and parts

This publication of classic and popular music masterpieces, arranged for violin ensemble, is a good present for young violinists — students of schools and colleges — all those who listen to music and even perform it themselves.

It would be fine playing ensemble miniatures by J. S. Bach, F. Schubert, J. Brahms, A. Dvořák, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, S. Rakhmaninov, S. Prokofiev, A. Petrov mastering the sense of structure and style, phrasal elaboration and melodic details. Of course, these objectives are achieved only if students sharpen their ears achieving perfect strokes and cantilena, pure and expressive unisons and polyphony, using the bow skillfully for supple dynamic balance.

All the arrangements are made by Isaak Ratner, the editor-compiler of this collection, famous (Leningradian) Petersburgian teacher, having conducted the young violinists’ ensemble.

Some time ago the Leningrad concert stages got evidence of Ratner’s transcriptions great success. Now they are accessible for all those, who enjoy lofty and exciting art of ensemble music making.
