Yakov Isakovich Dubravin — composer, People’s Artist of Russia, professor of the St. Petersburg State Arts’and Culture University.
Dubravin is the graduate of the Leningrad State N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (1962).
His creation embraces two musicals, operette, six cantatas for children’s choir. Fifteen vocal cycles, music for cinema and TV, dramatic performances, circus programmes, radio projects, compositions for choir, variety-symphonic orchestra, instrumental ensembles, about three hundred songs, more than a hundred of choral arrangements.
Yakov Dubravin is the laureate of many competitions and festivals (international, all-Union, all-Russia, Leningrad ones).
“My new piece, Ale Brider is based on the true Jewish melodies. Composing each number in flying variation form, with the help of the choir texture, I tried to create this piece in a concert and popular manner.
I hope that my creation will be successful among the performers as well as the spectators.
