The “Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom” was written by Sergei Rakhmaninov in summer 1910, and firstly performed in November of the same year by the Synodal Choir conducted by N. Danilin.
This edition is based on the score published by Jurgenson's publishing house.
The titles of the movements have been translated into English, and the canonical text of the service has been subtitled with Latin transcription.
The publishers hope that it will allow а considerable number of foreign choirs to perform this masterpiece of Russian music in their native language.
