It was in 1987 during Basner's residence in Repino near Leningrad, when the “Six Poems by A. Pushkon” for voice and piano were completed. The romances “A-breathing With the Sweetest Hope”, “God,Save Me From Going Mad”, “Reminiscence”, “What's in My Name for Thou?” were composed during the period of February-June, while the other two ones had been begun in 1948.
