Yekimov S. Lord, Don't Leave Us Back (CD). Choir music a cappella

Sergei Yekimov is a composer, conductor, teacher, art director of the International Choir Festival “The Singing World” (St. Petersburg), laureate of Russian Government Award (2015) and the Award of the Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga in the fields of spiritual culture and arts (2019). Laureate of the All-Union and All-Russian competitions, professor.

S. Yekimov was born on 30 May 1974 in Leningrad. He graduated from the
N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatoire in St. Petersburg as a composer and conductor in 1998. Since 2002 he directs a Female Choir at the N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov music college (St. Petersburg), since 2011 — a Concert Choir in
St. Petersburg State Cultural Institute.

S. Yekimov is an author of choral and orchestral music, religious and secular compositions a capella, vocal cycles, pieces for piano and choir for children, music to theatrical performances, arrangements of Russian folklore songs for choir, popular melodies, romances and show compositions.

He teaches master classes regularly on the contemporary choir music of XX–XXI centuries in many Russian cities and abroad. S. Yekimov is a chairman and jury member of many competitions (between composers, conductors and choirs). In 2019 S. Yekimov received a Plaque of Saint Tatiana “A teacher of young people” for his outreach and social activities.
