The proposed collection for three-stringed domra, accompanied by piano includes the works by the Spanish composer Elena Mezzacapo, whose creation was firstly represented in the French music editions at the end of the XIX century and then in the Russian and the English editions at the beginning of the XX century.
All the pieces by Elena Mezzacapo were intended for mandolin. Among them there are the compositions for mandolin solo, for the duet of mandolins and also for the duet of mandolin and mandola. Most of the compositions had the guitar or piano accompaniment. Elena Mezzacapo is the author of nearly 70 works.
On the whole, these are the dancing character pieces, easy enough by their musical language, wonderfully perceived by ear. Their technique is not very complexed. They are melodies with peculiar contrasts of nuances.
The collection is planned first of all for the art and music schools' students. It consists of 6 (six) compositions of diverse humours, selected by the compiler and arranged for the three-stringed domra and piano. One of the compositions “Mina-Gavotte” should be performed by the small and alto-domra with piano.
