The Compozitor Publishing House o Saint-Petersburg represents the collection of pieces by the Italian, Spanish and French composers, whose creative period fell on the second half of the 19th century up to the beginning of the 20th century. This exact collection for domra and piano continues the series “The Old — the New”.
All the pieces entering this publication are vivid and dramatic by their facture and melodious sphere. Initially they were intended for mandolin, however, in the course of time domra fortuned to be capable to substitute for mandolin rather efficiently, and likewise with the same slightest hints. The authors of the series and compilers, the music teachers Vladimir Ivanov and Andrey Nikolayev toured a lot, in particular with the St. Petersburg Russian Concert Orchestra directed by V. Popov, so as the Academic Russian V. V. Andreyev Orchestra of the Leningrad Radio and TV.
Young musicians are offered to fill there repertoire with the most helpful and constructive pieces having been so fashionable and popular during the sweet halcyon days.
