“Kaleidoscope — a rapid changing of various phenomena and events” (Definition Dictionary of S. I. Ozhegov).
Pieces of this collection have been written in line with this principle, as a kaleidoscope of musical moods, genres and styles: from classic Italian and Spanish guitar music, flamenco and latino styles to Russian folk tunes, Gypsy melodies, Boogie-woogie and rock’n’roll (The Lady and The Hooligan).
Years of experience in author’s pedagogical work in music schools found that teachers sometimes have difficulty in choosing the repertoire for their students. Despite numerous collections for guitar music, very few new and original guitar compositions have been published nowadays.
The author hopes, that “Guitar kaleidoscope” will partly fill this repertoire gap. Moreover, as the author has used very different techniques in his pieces, those who are mastering playing the guitar on their own will have a great opportunity to enrich their knowledge and skills.
