The genre of symphony may be called the sphere of paramount importance in Ludwig van Beethoven's (1770–1827) creation. The nine symphonies seemto embrace all the periods of the composer's spiritual life. It's quite evident to reveal Beethoven's aesthetic finds and achievements in symphonic genre having influenced all the European musical tradition. Beethoven's powerful energy determined his position amongst the greatest world masters.
The Symphony No 8 F major, ор. 93 was composed nearly simultaneously with the Seventh Symphony. The October, 1812 marked its being completed. The Seventh and Eighth Symphonies form the kind of antagonistic pair. The Eighth itself is rather chamber, graceful, fluent and imbibed with light humour and joy. Meanwhile, the dancing element predominates in it.
The premibre took place on February 27, 1814.
