Irina Tseslyukevich (*1955) — composer, graduate of the music school at the Leningrad Conservatoire (1974, V. A. Arzumanov’s composition class), Leningrad Conservatoire (1980) and after-graduate studying (1982) at B. I. Tishchenko. 1981 — admitted to the Russia Composers’ Union. Among her achievements there are diplomas at the contests in Russia and abroad, participation in international competitions (“Petersburg Music Spring, Darmstadt avant-garde festival, Week of Petersburg in Finland, theatre festival in Italy etc.). Her music is on roll in Russia, USA, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland etc.).  

Among her compositions there are 6 operas (5 of them were staged), 2 ballets (one of them is “Ugly Duckling”, composed in co-authorship with O. Petrova and A. Mikita staged in Leningrad, Kiev, Saratov), symphony, chamber music, vocal cycles, music to drama performances and films, music for children.  

The piece “Night with Chopin” was composed in 1989 and firstly performed in Turku (Finland), the second edition appeared in 2003 intended for the Amsterdam Chamber Orchestra. “The Night with Chopin” was performed in both Petersburg Philharmonic Halls.
