Prokofiev S. Symphony № 5. Score

The Symphony No 5 ор. 100 by Sergei Prokofiev was created in 1944. The composer addressed this genre after the long interval in his working process (the previous Symphony No 4 dates 1930). Thus the fifth Symphony became one of the apexes in Prokofiev's mature репой. Its music seems to have amalgamated the Russian epic Symphonic peculiarities together with the individual vivid features of Prokofiev's style. The premiere took place in Moscow on January 13, 1945 at the author's concert. Sergei Prokofiev himself conducted his Symphony. That was his last performing as the conductor.
