The composer Anton Tanonov (born 1977) is a successor of the Leningrad-Petersburg music trend, Sergei Slonimsky’s disciple, having enjoyed popularity already during the years of studying. Tanonov’s exclusive creative manner is based on the synthesis of academic art and the principles of modern technology, thus embracing chamber, symphonic and electronic genres. Just scamper along his compositions; Symphoniette (2000), “In Techno and Samba” (2003–2005), “25 Mobile Preludes” for symphony orchestra (2008), “Winter for Parting” (2008–2009), Symphony (2012), ballet “Sardine’s Funeral” (2011), Concero for viola and orchestra (2012) etc.

The young composer cooperates with many distinguished conductors and interpreters, such as Vladimir Fedoseyev, Alexander Sladkovsky, Osman Giuseppe Gioia (Brazil) Alim Shakhmametyev and Veronika Dzhioyeva (soprano). Tanonov’s music is on roll in the best halls of Russia, Turkmenistan, France, Italy and the U.S.A.

Anton Tanonov is now appointed the head of the composition department at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire, glorified by Rimsky-Korsakov, Glazunov, Lyadov, Shostakovich.
