Usually the curriculum of averages and senior categories of music schools includes the test, where pupils sing songs or romances to the accompaniment of the piano. Such kind of work, where a child demonstrates himself both a soloist and concertmaster, develops the professional skills of accompaniment. It seems to be the most important, that this process gives much pleasure to children and makes the lesson much more fascinated.
It is truly considered, that at the present children live in the world of bright and dynamical images. It can lead them away from serious classic music — to be understood correctly, it requires time and hard attention. What may be used as a suggestion in these circumstances, is to teach the children by not only academic music of the 20th century, interesting in the art aspect and, at the same time, adequate to the inquiries of new generation.
Simple form and easy genre definition, brilliant artistry, which is founded through the music themes (both in folk scenes and Broadway musicals), original plot, adjusting on a special sensation of full transformation into the hero — all this you will find in vocal pieces of the present publication.
Orientated on a single style, it consists of four parts: 1) Folk Songs 2) Pages of Musicals 3) In Jazz Style 4) Songs from the Movies. Every transcription (and vocal range, too) seems to be easy for playing by young musicians. Most of not very well-known pieces (we mean texts of some musicals and pieces, composed by M. Schmitz) were translated to Russian language especially for this publication. It is very necessary to sing English, American or German songs, using the original texts — you will find some of them in a special supplement to the publication.
This music material is suitable for using on vocal lessons, for the development of different kinds of professional skills. Such bright and emotional music will find many admirers among the music-lovers.
