Alec Rowley (1892–1958) — the English composer, pianist, organist, teacher, music writer. Having graduated from the Royal Music Academy of London (where he studied at Frederick Corder), he played organ in several churches of the capital, took part in the piano duet with Edgar Moe, taught composition in the Trinity College also in London.
Rowley is the author of orchestra compositions, cantatas, chamber, choral and vocal opuses, music for organ, piano, series of educational books and guides. His music is distinct for clarity and brevity. Due to these features Rowley’s opuses enjoyed there popularity at listeners, teachers and just music lovers.

Alec Rowley created numerous compositions in the genre of the “miniature concerto” for different kinds of instruments (piano, violin, cello and organ, which he called the Concertino) with orchestra. The duration of these masterpieces is not more than ten, or twenty minutes.

This Miniature Concerto for Piano and Orchestra arranged for two pianos by N. Kopchevsky would be that honest tale that speeds best being plainly told on the ground of world classical repertoire.
