The pieces from this collection (“Brother and Sister”, Vol. 3) are accessible for pupils with various sorts and levels of musical skills. It consists of original pieces of composers-romanticists (Brahms, Weckerlin, Grieg) and Russian authors (Arensky, Borodin, Rubinstein, Tchaikovsky, Banevich). Borodin’s “Polka” (from the cycle “Paraphrases”) is written in a very original manner, for the piano ensemble in 3 hands. First part here may be performed by beginners (the 1st — 2nd form), second part — by elder pupils (the 3rd — 4th form). Arrangements of orchestral music also form an important part in this collection. “Waltz of Flowers” from the ballet “The Nutcracker” (by P. I. Tchaikovsky) for eight-hand piano have been published for the first time ever. This ensemble may be performed by pupils of junior and middle forms.
