Rakhmaninov S. Etudes-Pictures. Vol. 2

The “Composer” Publishing House (Sankt Petersburg) offers you Etиdes-tableaиx by Sergei Rakhmaninov in two volumes in the “Pianist's Golden Repertoire” series. The second volume comprises 9 etudes-tableaux (op. 39) started by the composer in September 1916 and finished in February 1917. As compared with op. 33, the etudes-tableaux op. 39 are wider in form, they feature higher emotional stress and dramatism which is sometimes of quite а tragic sound. These Etudes-tableaux op. 39 are Rakhmaninov's last work written in Russia and one of the latest works in Russian music as written on the eve of the 1917 revolution.
