555 sonatas for harpsichord form the most part of Domenico Scarlatti's (1685–1757) creative legacy. As а rule these are small one movement works mostly written in the sonata form of the ancient type. The present collection includes 18 works from them, mainly the best known and most popular in concert performance. Some easier compositions are added. The sonatas are published in Hermann Keller and Wilhelm Weismann's editorship.
