Leonid Rezetdinov (*1961) is a recognizable composer, whose style is rather versatile. Among his opuses are three symphonies, ballets “Andrey Rublyov” and “Phantastic Dances of the Dolls”, symphonic phantasias “Jungles”, “Firework”, “Sun Pledge”, “Bolero Libero”, many vocal-orchestral, choral and chamber compositions, such as “Three Tragic Sonnets by William Shakespeare”, “Lyrical Suite to Alban Berg’s Memory”, “Space Inside”, “Little Night Moths” etc., having enjoyed popularity in Russia and abroad.
Rezetdinov’s cinema soundtracks are really a success together with the films they accompany (“Tagan Tango”, “Broken Lanterns Street”, “Vasilyevsky Isle”, “Female Dreams of Far Lands”.)
Piano music takes special place in Rezetdinov’s outlook. Remember his solo piano opuses: 3 sonatas, “Labyrinths” — book of polyphonic pieces, piano miniatures “Awakening and Playing with Sunray Reflection”, piano ensemble “Infinity” for two pianos in 8 hands, collection of children’s pieces “Invitation to Fairytale”.
