Tishchenko B. Sonata № 2 for piano

The Sonata № 2 for piano appeared in 1960, when the author passed his fourth year of the Conservatoire studying. Actually, this sonata is the first one to see the world, for the future Sonata №1 existed then only as the sketches, going to be completed in 1995.

It happened after that very concert of students taking place at the Leningrad Conservatoire, when D. D. Shostakovich invited Tishchenko to his class, having listened the young composer performing this sonata, while in 1978 this piano opus brought its author the State Russian Glinka Award.

The Sonata charms by its fascinating ingenuousness. It seems to be the young composer's view to the general idea of the piano sonata. He manifests virtuosity, vivacity, framed in classical form and nourished with ample technique. The Sonata has been enjoying popularity all over the world.
