The violist, conductor, composer and pedagogue Lev Mikhailovich Kirillov was born on October 19, 1947 in Turkmen. He graduated with honours from the Rostov-on-Don Conservatoire in 1972 and completed successfully his post-graduate education at the Leningrad (St. Petersburg) Conservatoire (professor Yuri Kramarov's class).
Being almost a student Lev Kirillov started zealous pedagogical and performing activity, communicating with the orchestras of Russia and Ukraine as the viola group concertmaster, conductor and art director.
Nowadays Dr Lev Kirillov practices as the Assistant Professor of the Afyon Conservatoire in Turkey.
Lev Kirillov's compositions embody his philosophical, pedagogical and performing conception of the concerting violist.
