The Sonata “Dedication to Sergei Prokofiev” is utterly intricate, pierced with sudden turns, making it sometimes awkward and even outlandish. The violin part is satiated with dissonances, high bells resound in the 1st and 3rd movements, piano chords are formed around the open strings.
The Sonata seems to mark all the abilities of the instrument, thus the modern violin music traditions are continued. (About A. Eshpai’s Sonata № 5 for violin and piano).
