Sonata for violin solo D major, op. 115, refers to 1947. The great violinist David Oistrakh remembers, that Sergei Prokofiev composed it for special educational purposes, however, suitable also for concert being performed by the violinists’ unison. This exact way (violinists’ unison) it was presented on March 10, 1960 at the educational concert of M. V. Milman’s class at the Moscow state Conservatoire.
