Pablo Sarasate (1844–1908) — the Spanish violinist-virtuoso and composer having once stopped the show of the violinists-performers. His teacher was D. Alar. His concert career was striking. The year of 1876 was marked by Sarasate's tour in Russia. Such composers as E. Lalo dedicated his Spanish Symphony to Sarasate. C. Saint-Saëns's Rondo-Capriccioso and M. Bruch's “Concert and Fantasia” were inspired by Sarasate's skill.

Pablo Sarasate's pieces (“Gypsy Tunes”, Introduction and Tarantella, Spanish Dances (12 note-books), Concert Fantasia to the opera “Carmen” by G. Bizet, Fantasia to the themes from the opera “Faust” by Ch. Gounod enjoyed their popularity all over the world.
