Series “Saxophone. The 21st Century” opens up to the world the new music for the saxophone and enriches the repertoire of the modern academic saxophonist. The published works were written at about the same time by the St. Petersburg composers of different generations. Each of them is marked by an individual author style and they have common features at the same time.

Series “Saxophone. The 21st Century” is а kind of business card, which represents the modern composer's school of St. Petersburg to the world music community.

In addition to the general technical requirements the performer must be proficient in such а modern techniques as glissando, slap, subtone, multiphonics, quarter tones, altissimo register. Artistic and stylistic value of these compositions helps to bring up the conscious performing interpretation and reveals the creative personality of the saxophonist.
